Trumpeter Matthew Halsall returns to Portugal with a new work that will be presented live at Casa da Música, Oporto and Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon. The CCB concert will be double, with Makaya McCraven performing on the same night. The same ticket gives access to both concerts.

Matthew Halsall, man at the helm of Gondwana Records, is preparing to return to our country with a new project. The acclaimed trumpet player, who is said to have achieved the feat of crossing the universes of Pharoah Sanders and Cinematic Orchestra, continues his quest for the most spiritual terrains of jazz with “An Ever Changing View”, which is already the tenth title in his discography in a personal capacity.

Live, Matthew performs in front of a renowned ensemble of Manchester based musicians such as Matt Cliffe (sax & flute), Alice Roberts (harp), Jasper Green (piano), Gavin Barras (bass), Alan Taylor (drums) and Sam Bell percussion. The equally renowned Chip Wickham is the guest saxophonist and flautist of this expansive ensemble.

In the new concert, in addition to refined material from his new album, Matthew Halsall travels through his already considerable discography, exploring jazz from a modern sensibility, never forgetting that the spirit and the body are always connected.
