In this concert integrated in the Misty Fest, Edu Lobo and Mônica Salmaso meet on the stages of CCB and Casa da Música to present a repertoire that Edu composed for artists such as Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Moraes, Cacaso, Paulo César Pinheiro. Joining Edu and Monica are some of the greatest Brazilian musicians: Cristóvão Bastos (piano), Jurim Moreira (drums), Jorge Helder (acoustic bass), and Mauro Senise (winds).

78 years of life, at least 60 of music. The man who debuted on the mythical label Elenco in 1964 with A Música de Edu Lobo Por Edu Lobo contributed decisively to the eternal Brazilian songbook that the world has learned to love, signing pearls such as “Upa Neguinho” or “Pra Dizer Adeus” that people as distinct as Caetano Veloso, Sérgio Mendes, Maria Bethânia, Marcos Valle or Sarah Vaughan and Earth, Wind & Fire made a point of adding to their own repertoires. And in more than thirty original albums, Lobo affirmed a singular vision of bossa nova and MPB that is still alive and vibrant.

This is exactly the vision that the guitarist and composer now brings to Portugal in the company of Mônica Salmaso, one of his great interpreters. This singer has dedicated her career to the great music of Edu Lobo, establishing herself as one of his best interpreters, revealing that her unique and velvety voice is perfect to carry all the melodic and harmonic nuances that Edu Lobo’s music has always lived. Accompanied by an excellent quartet with Cristóvão Bastos on piano, Jurim Moreira on drums, Jorge Helder on acoustic bass, and Mauro Senise on woodwinds, Edu and Mónica promise a magical evening made of true musical treasures from Brazil and the world.
